STEVE SHARTS - General Manager & President

Steve oversees the entire program while instructing and managing at each level.  Steve spent 7 years in professional baseball as a left handed Pitcher with the Philadelphia Phillies, his last 2 years of which in AAA at Scranton, PA.  He played his college baseball at Cal. State University of Northridge, a Division II school in the Los Angeles area. He helped his team win the College World Series in 1984, defeating Florida Southern for the title. He received both All American and All Conference Selection honors in 1985.
Steve has 21 years of coaching experience at the amateur level.  He has coached High School Baseball at CCC from 1993-1997, Countryside High School from 1998-2001 (1 PCAC Championship, 1 District Title, and a Regional Final in the state playoffs), Berkley Prep from 2001- 2003, and Tarpon High School 2012 under Coach Dickie Hart who is currently coaching at FAU.
Steve started the Tampa Terror baseball program in 2003 and since that time has had many players go onto the college and pro ranks. His most recent such player, is Matt Brazis.  Matt was the minor league pitcher of the year for the Seattle Mariners 2014, and was just traded to the Chicago Cubs to join their 40 man roster!!  Steve lives in Tarpon Springs, Florida with his wife of 26 years and his 2 children.  Steve can be reached at sharts@tampaterror.com.

ERIC EASTON - Assistant Coach & Pitching Coordinator

Eric was born and raised in Tarpon Springs, Florida.  He spent most of his youth playing baseball at the East Lake Youth Sports Complex and attended East Lake High School, where he played both baseball and basketball.
He received a baseball scholarship to SPC as well as being drafted by the Anaheim Angels during his senior year. He attended SPC for one year before leaving to go play pro baseball.  Eric spent 5 years playing professional baseball, two years in the Angels organization and three years of Independent leagues.  

He was the pitching coach at Palm Harbor University High School from 2011-2014 before making the move to East Lake where he has served as the Pitching Coach from 2016 - Present.  He also oversees the pitchers in the Tampa Terror program.  Eric also attends SPC, pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Exceptional Student Education.

CHAD FLETCHER - Assistant Coach & Catching Coordinator

Chad went to School at Lynn English High School in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he played baseball.  After High School he went to Boston College where he played in 1982 before transferring and playing at Salem State College from 1982-1984. 
After college, Chad played for the North Shore Flyers (Semi-Pro League) from 1988-1989.  He later played for the Nike World Masters Team from 1994-1999.
Chad has over 20 years experience coaching youth baseball including: Assistant Coach at Northshore Technical College in 2007; Assistant Coach at Palm Harbor University in 2008-2009; Head Coach at Anclote High School from 2011-2014; Assistant Coach at Bishop McLaughlin High School in 2016; and Assistant Coach at Calvary Christian High School from 2017-Present.  Chad has also served as an Assistant Coach and the Catching Coordinator for the Tampa Terror since 2009.

JASON MICHAELS - Assistant Coach & Hitting Coordinator

Jason is a Tampa native that started his baseball career at Jesuit High School.  After graduation, he attended Okaloosa-Walton Junior College before attending the University of Miami.  Jason was drafted 4 times (49th round by San Diego in '94, 44th round by Tampa Bay in '96, 15th round by St. Louis in '97, 4th round by Philadelphia in '98) ultimately signing with the Philadelphia Phillies in the 4th round of the 1998 draft.  His professional career spanned 15 years with 10 years in the Major Leagues with Philadelphia, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Houston.
Following his playing career, he served as a coach with the Washington Nationals in 2013 as a Roving Mentor Instructor.  Jason works with players on developing a "Big League Approach" that focuses on the mental approaches to hitting, baserunning, and outfield play.

Nick Shaw - Assistant Coach & Fielding Coordinator

Nick grew up playing locally in St Petersburg.  After graduation, he went to Barry University where he was a four year starting infielder from 2007-2010, primarily playing the positions of 2nd Base and Shortstop.  While there he was a Gold Glove winner in 2007, a 3 time All-Conference, and a 2 time All American.
He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 25th round of the 2010 Draft.  During his 7 years of playing professionally in the Brewers Organization, he was a 2 time Minor League Organization Quality At Bat Winner.
Nick now splits his time between coaching with the Tampa Terror and doing private lessons in both fielding and base running.
